Is my image uploaded anywhere?

No. The color extraction runs entirely in your browser using the canvas API. Your photo never leaves your device.

How are the colors chosen?

ColorSwoop samples the image, clusters similar pixels with a k-means style algorithm and returns the most representative colors, sorted by how much of the image they cover. You can choose 3 to 8 colors.

What formats are supported?

JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, AVIF and any other format your browser can display. You can also paste an image from the clipboard.
